Relaxing Bathtime

This Week —

A few playlists ago in Sleepy Babies Music, we talked about how music can make family life with little ones a teensy bit easier. At our house, certain music serves as cues, helping the Elf and I both with transitions and defining certain parts of our day. Bath time is a particularly important event in our evening—and while water does have a calming effect, it can also be incredibly stimulating (we’ve all lived through baby's bathtub tidal waves and flying bath toys). With this playlist, the Elf and I find the balance between fun and calm.

Listen to —

This playlist was designed to accompany a 30-minute bath from start to finish. You’ll hear a lot of music by Claude Debussy because he was the King of Water Music. It starts off lively and ends so soothingly you may find yourself zenned out for a few precious moments as well ;)

Make it New —

In case you need some ideas to reinvent bath time (we promise we won’t add any more squishy toys to your already colossal bath toy stash) here are a few ideas:

  • Color the water with a few drops of food coloring

  • Bring mixing bowls from your kitchen, float them in the water and have your kiddo try to throw toys into them

  • Freeze up some colored ice cubes to add to the water

  • Bring balloons into a bubble bath and watch the magic happen

Happy bathing!
