Inspired by Nature

This Week —

We bring you a special collaboration we did with a beautiful mom-owned brand from the UK called Grasp and Gather. With their range of simple and safe toys, made from sustainable materials, Grasp and Gather is all about sparking children’s creativity through natural toys. Juliet and the Elf is all about sparking children’s imagination through complex music. We come together to encourage your children’s multisensory adventures that combine complex music, treasure baskets, and the environment around them.

Listen to —

Many Classical music composers have been passionate lovers of nature. Beethoven confessed that he often preferred the company of a tree to that of a man! This playlist consists of masterpieces inspired by nature such as Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Copland’s Appalachian Spring. It’s gentle, it promotes focus, and it’s perfect to accompany some crafting, or creating a small world, or sensory play with your Grasp and Gather toys.

Treasure Baskets —

A treasure basket is a low-sided basket filled with a variety of natural and everyday household items. The items should offer a wide range of different textures, weights, colours, shapes, smells, and sizes that are designed to be explored by a seated baby. The benefits of a treasure basket include promoting curiosity, developing concentration, providing opportunities for decision making, and laying down the foundations for independent play. Visit G&G’s Guide for all the tips and tricks of making one at home.

Happy playing!
