Calm After The Storm

This Week —

You know that time of day when the sun sinks down into the horizon while you’re prepping family dinner and fantasizing about the date you’re having later tonight with a box of chocolate and The British Baking Show? There’s no shame in that game. I live for those nights.

But then your little Elf snaps you back into reality by suddenly, and inexplicably, bouncing off the walls, killing the vibe you had going. You ask yourself how the heck your kids can emerge like screeching wildings at 7pm. Could they have possibly located and consequently decimated your secret candy stash? More importantly, what can you do to help them chill the &@#% out. My answer: Music.

Listen to —

Set the tone of your home in the evenings by unwinding with this slow playlist that includes classical big shots such as Vivaldi, Bach, Faure, Elgar. As an added bonus, it’s also a great playlist to listen to while you’re wrapped up in a good book or a glass of wine after the kiddos go off to bed. BTW: here’s a fantastic book I’m currently reading, that outlines science-based strategies which foster healthy brain development, leading to calmer, happier children. Can I get an amen?

Hope this playlist soothes your soul as much as it does mine.

Happy winding down!
